Charlie Edgar Dantzler

Charlie Edgar Dantzler, 91, of Bloomfield, MO, passed away November 19, 2023, at the Advance Assisted Living in Advance, MO. He was born October 29, 1932, in Elloree, South Carolina, the son of Robert and Mary M. Loudermilk Dantzler.

Charlie retired after a 20-year career serving in the U.S. Air Force. The very next day he began a new career with the Missouri State Parks Department as a park superintendent. He traveled to numerous parks throughout Missouri. After a 20-year career he retired at Wappappello State Park. Charlie then spent his time on his farm near Bloomfield. He enjoyed fishing in his pond, cutting grass, and tinkering with clocks. He was known for always being a gentleman. Charlie enjoyed traveling with his wife and dogs in their motorcoach. In his younger years he raised and trained bird dogs to aid in quail hunting. He loved and adored being a grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Bloomfield.

Charlie and Barbara Ann Irick were united in marriage on June 13, 1964, in South Carolina and she preceded him in death on October 7, 2021.

Survivors include: a daughter, Becky McLean of Puxico; four grandchildren, Dawn Cullen, Tonia Nathan, Katrina Dodge and Angela Bennett; and nine great-grandchildren, AJ, Jordan, Owen, Nathan, Juliet, Blair, Bobby, Skylar and Charlie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara Dantzler; a daughter, Patty Farris; three brothers and a sister.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance, MO. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel. Burial will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO.
