In loving memory of Lourean Rasey, who peacefully passed away on January 28, 2024, in Avon Park, Florida, at the age of 98. Born on November 11, 1925, in Hartman, Arkansas, Lourean was the cherished daughter of John W and Jessie (Darney) Scott. Her dedicated career at Dexter Memorial Hospital in Dexter, Missouri, showcased her compassionate nature as a Nurses Aide, Physical Therapist Assistant, and in Medical Records. Affectionately known as “Nanny,” she was a beacon of warmth and hospitality. Lourean, a snowbird between Dexter, Missouri, and Avon Park, Florida, embraced life with a passion for family, cooking and shopping. Her open-door policy, welcoming visitors at any hour, reflected her generosity and love. “I don’t care if it’s 2 AM; you can come see me; my door is always open,” she would say. Family was paramount to Lourean, and her mantra, “Family comes first, last, and always!” underscored her values. She is survived by her loving children, Carla (Stan) Jacobson of Avon Park, Florida, and James (Sylvia) Rasey of Santa Paula, California. Preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Jim, Eileen, Steline, Johnny, Qurita, and Joe Lee, her Great Granddaughter Sarah Leigh Reynolds and GrandSon-in-law Bob Thompson. Lourean’s legacy lives on through eight grandchildren: Denise (Steve) Alsup , Lora England, Barbara Thompson, Donna Waldron, Shawna Rasey, Aaron (April) Rasey, Carrie (Dan) Volk, and Alisa (Dustin) Dunn. Additionally, she leaves behind seven great-grandchildren: Allen Farmer, Anthony Alsup, Chelsea Lourean Jines, Amanda, Jordan, Katie, Eva, Aneka Rose, Madelyn Jane.
