National Day of Prayer

The Dexter Ministerial Alliance invites the public to join them for a special prayer service for the National Day of Prayer, to be held at noon Thursday, May 2. The event will last around 30-40 minutes. In case of inclement weather, it will be held at First Christian Church.

American Legion meeting

American Legion Post 59 will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 2, across from West Park in Dexter. All veterans are welcome to attend.

Saturday, May 4

A free country carnival will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 4, at the Beechwell Church, 38220 State Highway H, Campbell. Free food will include hamburgers, hot dogs, sodas, pop corn, cotton candy, snow cones. Also free will be game booths and prizes, train rides, bounce houses, and a petting zoo by Cock-A-Doodle-Moo, where everyone can feed the animals. Live music will be by Blue Grace & Changed Heart. Sunday, May 5

Baccalaureate Service

A Baccalaureate Service for the 2024 Dexter senior class will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, May 5, at First Assembly of God Church. Brooke Lassiter will serve as student host with worship being led by Emma Dorton, Addiee Medley, Landon Jarrell and Luke Gentry. Speakers will be Anistin Kyle and Cy Scott, with guest alumni speaker Aaron Mathis. The public is welcome.

Monday, May 6

Senior Dance

American Legion Post 59, 620 W. Oak St., will host a senior dance at 7 p.m. Monday, May 6. Featured band will be Restless Ramblers with a $5 admission. All are welcome to attend.

Wednesday, May 8

Caregiver support

Paradigm Senior Management is hosting a Dexter Dementia Caregiver Support Group the second Wednesday of the month from 5:30-7 p.m. at 300 N. Walnut Street.

Thursday, May 9

Dexter Farmer’s Market

Dexter Farmer’s Market opens for the season Thursday, May 9, and will be open 4-6 p.m. Thursdays through Oct. 3 at East Park. Those interested in being a vendor can contact the Chamber at info@dexterchamber.com or 573-624-7458.
